Diego Maradona shamelessly smacks the ball into the net with a handball - and has the cheek to call it the “Hand of God”. The goal’s allowed and England never forgives or forgets going out 2-1 to Argentina in the 86 quarter-finals.

Assassination of Japan Socialist Inejiro Asanuma

This particular picture was taken only a second before the japanese socialist Party leader Asanuma was assassinated by an right wing student in the year 1960. Photographer Yasushi Nagao said he was only on the right place and on the right time. He received a Pulitzer price for this photo.
